A
Women’s Build encourages and enables
women to build Habitat houses and to have a positive impact
on the lives of disadvantaged children and their families.
The
project's
goal is not to exclude men but to empower women through a
non-threatening building site. Families, especially single-mom
families, are strengthened by the compassion and example of
women participating in Women’s Build. By involving more
women Habitat is able to build more houses. This supports
our mission of moving children and their families out of poverty
houses into healthy environments.
As
women improve and utilize their building skills and receive
encouragement from peers, their self-esteem and overall sense
of well-being are greatly enhanced.

More
than a Hammer
A Women’s Build project takes more than willing women
grabbing hammers and paint brushes.
A
great deal of planning, promotion and preparation must precede
the actual build. Building
will take place during May, June, and July, but help is needed
throughout the year. Financial support is currently the biggest
need.
Please
call or e-mail Habitat to learn how you can participate in
Women's Build. |
